It’s like a huge place, a brand new space – bright and amazing - and for the first time ever, I mean ever, there’s room for everyone
It's ours, you know? Our place. There's never been anywhere like it before: It's limitless
Within this new place the whole world might hear what we have to say. The whole world might listen and change, because we tell it to listen and we make it change.
A world where the loudest voice, the toughest voice, the most SARCASTIC shouts everyone down
where words are knives, and smiles are sneers. And you don't speak because you're afraid to speak. And you've can't move because you're afraid to move. You've no freedom to laugh because the laughter coming back at you is cruel
Those voices, those actions, they take this huge space, this brand new place, our place, and COMPRESS it
And suddenly it's small and lonely. You can't breath and it's dark. And they've ROBBED it from us, from me, from you. There is no more space and there's only ONE voice, shouting at you, ONE opinion - and you're alone
No. You're not alone. Not here. Not any more. This is our place - mine; yours, OURS. And I promise you. I PROMISE. I will not turn away
I won't leave you on your own. I won't be the one who sees without acting, who hears without speaking up. We've had enough of the world turning its back and pretending not to notice when people are hurt
There will be no bystanders in this new place; we're all responsible for what we do here, and for what we allow to be done. We stand up for each other here. If we decide this now - if we mean it - then we really can change the world
Because in this new space, this brand new place, there's room for everyone
